Man, sometimes being busy kills the writing time, doesn't it?

I'm in the final bits of my next Radio and the Road and MJ and Sonny are rocking, though. So, there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope it's not a train.

made me laugh.

It was 'what's your pseud and how did you get it?'

Well, truth is? I collect turtles. I love them. The goofier the better.

...has it been 6 weeks.

I've been busy. Honest.

I've even written a little.

Okay, maybe more than a little.

Thanks so much to all the wonderful folks that came to see me at RT and Saints and Sinners. It's *so* cool to meet readers. :D

I'm trying to get all ready - it's already air conditioner weather here, I have the feeling Pittsburgh's going to feel *cold*.

I can't wait to meet all the folks and sit and chat in the bar. It should be a blast.

As those of you that have met me know - I have two obsessions: rodeo and country music.

Now, I can wax poetic about the differences between Texas music and Nashville music for days. We can discuss whether it started with Pat Green (I don't think so), George Strait (nope), Willie Nelson (uh-uh, although I love Willie), or Bob Wills (now that I can go along with). We can discuss whether or not the difference is in the crowds or in the actually production. We can talk about pride and money and all sorts of nit-picky details that are the ravings of the musically obsessed mind.

Or we can just enjoy the music.

The fact is that there is a difference between Nashville country and the Texas scene. If you want a flavor of Texas - there are the big boys - Willie, King George, Bob Wills, Kris Kristofferson. There's Trent Willmon, Aaron Watson, the Robisons, Kelly Wills, Clay Walker, Robert Earl Keane, Pat Green, Asleep at the Wheel, the Geezinslaws.

Have a listen, there's a difference. ;-)

It was a great weekend in New Mexico - Julia and I had a blast.

There's nothing quite as fun as the PBR. ;-)

Cowboy butts. Wrinkled-eyed smiles. Wranglers. Bulls.

Uhn.

:D

Mmm...

PBR. Cowboys.

I'm off feeding my obsession. See y'all Tuesday!
