My bonus chapter is from the Leanin’ N series (all of which are on sale for 99¢!) and it’s a hint of what’s upcoming for the 6th book in the series, which a ton of readers have asked for! The Leanin’ N is an LGBTQI+-friendly, gay-run dude ranch outside of Aspen, and the series theme is bringing families together, so this fits right in.

So, when I think hurt/comfort, I think about one of my top ten movies — Dead Again. I’ve loved it for years — the story of doomed lovers in the past, an amnesiac mute woman, a hard-boiled PI, tons of art and music and gorgeous black and white scenes. 

I won’t give too much away, but Emma Thompson was at her most luminous, and Kenneth Brannaugh still stuns me.

But it’s the whole idea that love can heal what’s broken that hooks me, every time.
